Fat Eddie’s is based on the New York Jazz bar scene and is located in SOL Square - right in the heart of Christchurch's hottest new district - South of Lichfield.
With wonderful exposed brick walls, a suspended wooden mezzanine floor and many areas to explore, the venue is like nothing else in Christchurch. A range of darn good food, an extensive wine list, more than a few types of beers, and yet Fat Eddie's also manages to be THE PLACE for specially crafted cocktails
The centrepiece of Fat Eddie's is the raised stage area, big enough to accommodate the Grand Piano - always on show and ready to be played. The stage hosts many different styles and sizes, from solo acts to 11 piece bands with brass and horn section.

Martin Bennett and Stephen Hardman arrived in New Zealand from England with their families in February of 2003, on separate planes and unaware that they had the same dream of bringing cask conditioned beer to New Zealand.
They were both disappointed with the bland, sweet, cold and fizzy offerings found in most pubs and bars of Christchurch. Through networking in the brewing industry, they were brought together and a plan was hatched. Together they decided to set up a brewery and bar of their own, to brew beers that are full of flavour and served in the traditional manner, just as beer has been produced in England for many hundreds of years.
